UAE WPS Salary Export — one click, zero Excel

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources (MOHRE) requires every private-sector employer to pay salaries through the Wage Protection System using an agent-bank SIF file in a strict fixed-width format. One wrong field, the whole file rejects. AttendUX generates the SIF directly from your payroll run — correct format, validated IBANs, correct paymentCategory for every employee type, ready to upload to your agent bank portal. No more editing tens of thousands of lines in Excel on payday.

Why integrate WPS UAE (MOHRE) with AttendUX

MOHRE-exact SIF format

Fixed-width 143-char records, agent-bank header, employer prefix, payment category codes — all generated precisely per the latest MOHRE specification (updated whenever MOHRE revises).

IBAN + account validation

Every employee IBAN is validated against UAE Central Bank BIC rules before export. Accounts missing bank details are flagged BEFORE the file is generated — no bank rejections.

Payment category auto-tagging

Each employee auto-tagged with the correct paymentCategory (regular salary, final settlement, leave salary, overtime, gratuity). No manual tagging of hundreds of rows.

Every UAE agent bank

Emirates NBD, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), ADCB, Mashreq, Dubai Islamic Bank, RAK Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai, HSBC UAE, Standard Chartered, and more.

Automatic re-run on changes

Post-payroll correction (missed overtime, bonus added)? Re-generate the SIF — AttendUX tracks file versions so you upload the correct one to the bank.

MOHRE compliance support

Rejected file from your bank? Our team walks you through the specific record that failed. We maintain working test SIFs against every UAE agent-bank portal.

How it works

Typical setup takes under 10 minutes.

1

Enable the WPS UAE module

In your AttendUX admin → Payroll → WPS Settings → toggle UAE on. Enter your employer prefix code (6-9 chars from MOHRE registration) and your agent bank.

2

Fill employee bank details

Each employee needs IBAN, bank name, MOHRE Labour Card number, and payment category. AttendUX validates the IBAN format on save; invalid ones are flagged in the employee list.

3

Run payroll as usual

Generate the payroll cycle the way you always do — calculations, deductions, overtime. The WPS export is a layer on top, not a separate workflow.

4

Click "Export WPS SIF"

On the finished payroll, click the WPS button. AttendUX generates the SIF file in seconds, named per MOHRE convention: `{prefix}_{date}_{bank}.sif`.

5

Upload to your agent bank

Log into Emirates NBD Business Online, FAB Corporate, ADCB Business Net (etc.), go to Payroll → WPS Upload, select the file. The bank submits to MOHRE on your behalf.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is WPS and when is it mandatory?

Wage Protection System — a MOHRE requirement for all private-sector employers in the UAE since 2009. Salaries MUST be paid through a WPS-registered agent bank. Non-compliance blocks work permit renewals and blacklists the company. Required for 1+ employees.

Does AttendUX handle the Dubai DMCC free-zone variant?

Yes. DMCC and other free zones use the same MOHRE SIF spec — AttendUX generates one file that works for mainland + DMCC + TECOM + DIFC payroll. Free-zone-specific fields are preserved.

What if an employee has no UAE bank account yet?

Flag them as "WPS-exempt pending" in the employee record. AttendUX excludes them from the SIF, generates a separate cash payment list with signature lines (required for MOHRE audit), and resumes WPS inclusion once their account is active.

Can I preview the SIF before upload?

Yes — full preview with record-by-record breakdown, totals vs payroll run (must match within 0.00 AED), and MOHRE field validation. Upload is manual (you log into the bank portal), so you always have a final check.

How often is the SIF format updated?

MOHRE revises the SIF spec roughly every 18-24 months. We track changes and ship free updates automatically — no action on your side. Last format revision: January 2024, next expected Q3 2026.
