The short version
Pick AttendUX if you operate in MENA — any Gulf country, Egypt, Levant — and need WPS/MOHRE/Mudad/GOSI compliance, Arabic UI, ZKTeco cloud sync, local MENA payments, same-timezone support. BambooHR cannot do any of these. Pick BambooHR if your business is US/UK/AU/CA-primary + you want best-in-class onboarding workflows + US-style ATS + employee experience polish — AND you are OK running a US-centric HR system in English-only for your MENA operation (if any). Most MENA businesses will find BambooHR structurally incompatible, not just more expensive.
Pricing — AttendUX is 5-10× cheaper, but that is not the main point
BambooHR US pricing is ~$6/user/month (Essentials) to ~$12/user/month (Advantage). For 50 users on Advantage: $7,200/year. There is no public MENA pricing — US customers pay in USD, non-US customers also pay USD.
AttendUX is graduated: Lite $360/yr through Max $2,820/yr. For 50-person Egyptian business: ~18,500 EGP/year (~$400) — 18× cheaper than BambooHR Advantage. For 50-person Gulf business: ~$2,500/year — nearly 3× cheaper than BambooHR Advantage.
But cost is not the real issue. BambooHR could be free and it still wouldn't have WPS SIF generation, Arabic UI, or ZKTeco integration. For a MENA business, those missing features matter more than the price difference.
MENA compliance — structural, not configurable
BambooHR was built for US employment law. Payroll runs through US partners (TriNet, Gusto integration) with 50-state tax calculations. Onboarding flows are built around US W-4 + I-9 forms + US background checks + direct deposit. ATS is built around US job boards (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn US).
There is no path to add UAE WPS SIF generation, Saudi Mudad + GOSI, Egyptian Labor Law 14/2025, or Arabic RTL UI as a configuration. These require different schema, different compliance logic, different language infrastructure. BambooHR serves MENA customers today only when those customers accept running US-style HR in English without MENA compliance.
AttendUX ships with Egyptian Labor Law 14/2025, UAE MOHRE WPS auto-SIF, Saudi Mudad + GOSI + Nitaqat, Qatari compliance pre-configured. The engine was built around these from day one.
Where BambooHR actually wins — onboarding + ATS + UX polish
BambooHR is widely considered the SMB HR gold standard for a reason. Specifically:
• **Onboarding workflows**: new hires get a branded portal with e-signatures, document collection, policy acknowledgment, equipment requests, and training schedule. Industry-leading experience.
• **US-centric ATS**: job post distribution to US job boards, interview scheduling, offer letter workflows with e-sign, candidate scorecards.
• **UX polish**: consistently rated 4.5+ on G2, 4.7 on mobile app stores, employee self-service that employees actually enjoy.
• **US payroll via partners**: deep integrations with TriNet, Gusto, ADP for US-compliant payroll.
For US SMBs, BambooHR is often the obvious pick. The issue is only when organizations try to extend it to MENA operations where the core features don't exist.
Support hours + language — the operational reality
BambooHR support operates on US business hours (9am-5pm Mountain Time, UTC-6/-7). A ticket from Dubai filed at 10am UAE time won't see first response until 7pm UAE time at earliest — often next day. Phone support is US-based, English-only.
AttendUX support operates MENA-timezone-first. WhatsApp support in Arabic or English responds within 2-6 hours typically during Egyptian + Gulf business hours. For HR teams running daily operations, same-timezone support is a quality-of-life difference that compounds over months.
This is not a dig at BambooHR — their model is right for their market. It's just a mismatch for MENA customers who need responsive support during their own working day.
