Location Setup

Setting up the branch location accurately is critical for geofencing-based attendance. The system uses GPS coordinates to verify that employees are at the correct location when checking in.

1

Open the Map

When creating or editing a branch, click "Set Location on Map" to open the interactive Google Maps view.

2

Place the Pin

Click on the map to place the branch pin at the exact location of your office entrance. The latitude and longitude will be filled automatically.

3

Verify the Radius

A circle will appear on the map showing the geofence radius. Adjust the radius value until the circle covers your entire office area.

Tip: For the most accurate results, visit the branch location physically and use your phone's GPS to get the exact coordinates. You can also search for the address on Google Maps and copy the coordinates.

Geofencing Radius Explained

The geofence radius defines a circular area around your branch. Employees can only check in when their GPS location falls within this circle. Choosing the right radius depends on your office size and environment:

Radius Best For
50 – 100m Small offices, single-floor buildings. Very strict location validation.
100 – 300m Medium offices, multi-floor buildings, small campuses. Recommended for most businesses.
300 – 500m Large campuses, industrial areas, warehouses with multiple buildings.
500m+ Construction sites, large farms, outdoor work areas where GPS may be less accurate.
Warning: Setting the radius too small may cause check-in failures due to GPS inaccuracy (especially indoors). Setting it too large defeats the purpose of location verification. Start with 200m and adjust based on feedback.
Example

Your Cairo HQ office is in a 10-story building downtown. You set the geofence radius to 150m to cover the building and its parking area. An employee standing in the lobby can check in, but someone at the café across the street (200m away) cannot.

Branch-Specific Currency

For multinational companies with branches in different countries, each branch can have its own currency. This currency is used for salary calculations, payroll generation, and financial reports for employees at that branch.

Example

Orbit Engineering has three branches: Cairo (EGP), Riyadh (SAR), and Dubai (AED). Each branch's employees have salaries in the local currency. Payroll reports are generated per branch in the correct currency.

Tip: The branch currency only affects payroll and salary displays. If you need currency conversion for consolidated reporting, you can handle that in your accounting system.
